Experience immersive, hands-on ministry in one of Canada's fastest-growing regions. Located in Okotoks, Alberta (just south of Calgary), this program connects academic study with real-world church planting, local evangelism, and cross-cultural mission strategy.

The Need: Less than 4% of residents in the Calgary metropolitan region identify as Evangelical Christians.
The Mission: Connect people to Christ, Equip believers to grow deeply, and Send disciples to live on mission.

SELECT YOUR MINISTRY TRACK

Track 1: Pastoral & Church Planting Intern

Focus: Preaching, executive leadership, church operations, and pastoral care.

Preaching & Teaching: Assist in service planning, deliver devotionals/sermons, and lead mid-week Bible studies.
Pastoral Care & Discipleship: Conduct pastoral check-ins, manage prayer requests, and build 1-on-1 discipleship pipelines.
Operations & Leadership: Draft operational manuals (e.g., Sunday Operations Manual), shadow planting pastors, and contribute to community engagement strategy.

Track 2: Family / Student Ministry Intern

Focus: Gospel-centered student programs, family outreach, volunteer systems, and community bridge events.

Student Ministry Operations: Lead Sunday Student gatherings, adapt gospel-centered curriculum, and maintain safety protocols.
Family Outreach & Events: Plan and run community bridge events (Block Parties, Pop-up Coffee, family celebrations).
Volunteer & Parent Pathways: Draft SOPs for recruiting and training student ministry volunteers, while building discipleship pathways for parents.

SHARED CORE RHYTHMS

Church Planting & Outreach: Participate in city-wide evangelism and joint initiatives across regional network churches.
Cross-Cultural Missions: Apply contextualization strategies to engage diverse populations, cultures, and religious backgrounds.
Spiritual Formation: Practice a dedicated weekly Sabbath rhythm focused on rest, personal renewal, and spiritual discipline coaching.
Systems & Legacy: Build repeatable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ministry playbooks to support lasting local church growth.

Qualifications:

Eligibility: College/Seminary students (or recent grads); 18+ years old; valid passport (valid 3+ months post-internship); background check (within 1 year); written pastoral recommendation.

Other Details:

Housing & Food: Host family accommodations or shared intern housing provided. Shared meals with host families; interns cover supplemental personal food.
Travel & Transport: Interns cover travel to/from Calgary. Local transport coordinated via host families, city pathways (walk/bike), or approved personal vehicles.
Intern Covers: Meals outside the home, Health insurance, Time off travel, Tourism
Church Covers: Lodging, Meals in Home, Church related travel / activities
